Friend's of St Leonard's Flamstead – Supporters of St Leonard's Church Flamstead

The Friends of St Leonard’s, Flamstead is a Charitable Trust dedicated to preserving and maintaining the fabric of the ancient Grade I listed church that has stood at the heart of the village for nearly 900 years.

Friends are welcome from all religions or none, to share a respect for tradition, architecture, and contemporary village life.

The Friends raise funds in a number of ways:

The Friends were founded in 1995. Our aim is to raise funds to preserve the church building and its surroundings, not just for the benefit of church goers but for the community as a whole.

A big thank you to everyone who came to last night's Village Supper organised by the FoSL charity. Around 80 people enjoying good food, company and music in beautiful surroundings.As usual the food was prepared by volunteer cooks from the village, all transporting steaming pots to the venue.The entertainment was provided by the Rose and Crown house band who performed a series of sets of lively, well known hits from different decades, with the audience demanding encores.Local businesses donated prizes for the raffle which raised nearly £450.Although the event is mainly a chance for the village to get together, it's also a reminder that FoSL needs continuing support to ensure the future of our beautiful church building, its surrounding churchyard and God's Acre, for centuries to come.If you'd like to find out more about FoSL and become a supporter of our secular charity please visit www.friendsofstleonards.org ...
